Katya Grabova

Katya Grabova, a talented young pianist based in London, is currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music under the guidance of Professor Mei-Ting Sun. Noteworthy is her receipt of the Michael Gilsenan award in the Academy in recognition of her achievements. Katya’s musical journey began at the age of 6 in Moscow (Russia), where she graduated from the Gnessin School of Music under the tutelage of Professor Tatiana Zelikman and renowned concert pianist Boris Berezovsky.

Katya’s recent performance appearances include prestigious venues like the Purcell Room at Southbank Centre, St. James Piccadilly Church, Southwark Cathedral and Westminster Music Library. 

As an active participant of renown music festivals, Katya has performed at the Summer Piano Festival at the Royal Academy of Music, Rheingau Music Festival in Germany, Gijon International Piano Festival in Spain, and others. She is a winner of several international competitions such as "Mlody Virtuos" in Poland, Rubinstein International Music Competition in Germany and Nutcracker TV Competition for Young Musicians in Russia. 

In 2022, she participated in the London Sinfonietta Summer Academy, showcasing her talent alongside principal players.

This academic year, Katya has received the Robert Turnbull Piano Foundation and the Hill Foundation Awards.

This autumn, her performance at Beethoven Piano Prize at the Academy was highlighted as a very highly commended one. Described as “powerful and passionate” by Nick Salwey her recent recital at Winchester presenting programme of Brahms and Beethoven was featured in Hampshire Chronicle. 

In academic year  2024-2025, Katya will continue her education at the Royal Academy of Music, pursuing masters degree, as she’s been offered a place to study for Master of Music programme in recognition of her professional progress and achievements.
